SQS opens test automation factory in India
Stephen Bashada, vice-president of Teamcenter Applications at Siemens PLM Software has opened SQS’s new test automation factory at SQS India’s company headquarters in Pune in May. Siemens PLM Software is the new test automation factory’s first client. “As the market leader for independent software testing, SQS has offered its customers test automation services for business applications for many years” comments Gireendra Kasmalkar, CEO of SQS India.
With its new test automation factory, SQS says it is taking a decisive step forwards in the field of independent software testing. “Test automation is particularly important with regard to large-scale business-critical applications as testing is often the most time-consuming part of the software development process. This can lead to expensive delays in the distribution of new system versions or to quality issues during operation, which are even more costly,” explains Kasmalkar. “The new test automation factory is the SQS solution to this challenge. It is based on an industrial manufacturing procedure, which organises test automation on the basis of the production line principle to achieve the desired level of productivity. Like a true factory, the charging is based on the output, rather than the headcount of engineers typically used in the IT industry.”
As, the SQS test automation factory’s first client, Siemens PLM Software team sought a consistent, maintainable, productive and scalable testing solution. Through the test automation factory, SQS offered the right tools and conditions as well as an industrial procedure that can automate thousands of required test cases.
